The three ways to issue a COI
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”Any agent thinking about COI workflows at their agency — whether you expect most requests to come from your team, your clients, or external third parties.
The three flows
Section titled “The three flows”Agent-initiated (Flow 1) — your team opens a request for a client from the Requests dashboard. Live.
Insured self-service (Flow 2) — your client requests their own COI from a self-service portal. Live — see Insured self-service COI portal.
Requester-initiated (Flow 3) — a third party (vendor, landlord, GC) submits a COI request to your public intake page. Live — see Your public COI intake portal.
What’s live today
Section titled “What’s live today”Flow 1 — agent-initiated. Agents open the Requests dashboard, click New request, select the insured, fill in the certificate holder and coverage details, and submit. Koffyr routes the request through your coverage rules — routine requests can be approved and issued immediately; others land in the review queue.
Flow 2 — insured self-service. Each of your insured clients has a dedicated intake link. When they visit it, they fill out a structured COI request form. Koffyr checks it against your coverage rules automatically — routine requests can be auto-issued without any agent action. For setup instructions, see Insured self-service COI portal.
Flow 3 — requester-initiated. Your public COI intake portal is fully live. You can turn on a shareable URL for your agency today, and any external requester (a vendor, landlord, or general contractor) can submit a COI request that lands directly in your dashboard queue. For setup instructions, see Your public COI intake portal.
Working with your request queue
Section titled “Working with your request queue”Once requests are in your dashboard, you can:
- Search across requester name, insured, certificate holder, and description of operations using the search bar.
- Sort and filter by submission date using the date range controls.
- Bulk-action multiple requests at once — select rows with the checkboxes and choose an action from the toolbar (approve, decline, nudge).
