Issue a COI from the agent dashboard
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”Agents and administrators reviewing an approved COI request and issuing the certificate of insurance.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The request must be in an approved state before you can issue a certificate.
- Open the Requests page and filter for requests pending issuance.
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”- From the Requests list, find the approved request. Click the request to open the slide-over, then click Open issue page — or click Issue COI directly from the list.
- The issue page opens with two panes: your editing controls on the left and a live PDF preview of the certificate on the right.
- Review the certificate holder pre-filled from the request. If it needs changing, use the Change cert holder button.
- Set the Waiver of Subrogation toggle — choose Yes, No, or Default (falls back to the insured’s policy setting).
- Add or edit the Description of Operations text if needed.
- Watch the preview pane update automatically as you make changes.
- When the certificate looks correct, click Issue to finalize and deliver it.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- The certificate PDF is stored and associated with the request.
- The requester and insured receive the certificate by email.
- The request status advances to Issued in the Requests list.
Resending a certificate
Section titled “Resending a certificate”If the recipient needs the certificate again after it was already issued, open the request slide-over and click Resend certificate. This re-delivers the existing certificate without creating a new request.
Adding a recipient
Section titled “Adding a recipient”To send the certificate to an additional address, open the request slide-over and use Add recipient. The new recipient receives the certificate immediately if the request is already in issued status.
